Founding VT's Largest Design Team
Founded and grew VT CRO, Virginia Tech's largest design team from 0 to 90 engineers across 10 majors.
Responsibilities
• As the first President of VT CRO, I served a 2.5 year term from November 2022 to May 2025.
• I was entrusted during my presidency with establishing the organizational structure of the new robotics team and assembling and managing an effective executive team.
• Ultimately responsible for the club's performance.
Outcomes
• Grew VT CRO from 0 to 90 members, becoming the largest design team at Virginia Tech. Oversaw five design teams across three labs and four support teams.
• Won 6 total awards in 2024, including 4 top finishes (two 1st place, one 2nd place, and a tournament championship award).
• Created Constitution and organized an effective succession plan.
• Created branding, marketing, and website for the organization. Achieved an acceptance rate of 20%.
• Negotiated $45,000 in total annual sponsorships with Boeing, Torc, and Altec.
• Organized two of Virginia's largest robotics competitions in 2024 and 2025.
• Established four senior design projects, representing 150 credit hours in 30+ Virginia Tech engineering degrees.
• Created outreach programs impacting hundreds of K-12 students annually.
• Integrated two robotics clubs into VT CRO, facilitating smooth leadership transitions.
